Virtual reality and Immersive Media
The Associated Press (AP) is an American multinational nonprofit news agency headquartered in New York City that operates as a cooperative, unincorporated association. Francesco Marconi, a strategy manager for the AP, and Taylor Nakagawa, an emerging media fellow at the AP conducted a scientific study on Virtual Reality user engagement to measure how this medium affects it’s state of mind and the impact of immersive storytelling from cognitive perspective.
AP collaborated with Multimer, a New York City-based company and an incubator of MIT Media Lab. Multimer has developed mobile biosensors that measures a person’s engagement and brain activity when consuming immersive media content.
This paper and a subsequent data visualization, will try to focus on this issue by envisioning the relevant and available information in a way that is meaningful to the problem presented above
